If you’re looking to begin your adventure on the Humphreys Peak Trail, you’ll want to head north from Flagstaff on US 180 for approximately 7 miles until you reach Forest Road 516, also known as Snowbowl Road. Follow this well-paved road for another 7.4 miles, which will lead you to the lower parking lot at the Snowbowl facility.

Once you’ve arrived at the Snowbowl facility, you’ll find the trailhead conveniently located at the north end of the parking lot, which is easily identifiable (see the provided photo for reference). The Humphreys Trail starts at the Arizona Snow Bowl. This is the standard approach. The trail is very well marked until you reach the saddle. The first 3 miles the trail gradually climbs the mountain, then the last 1 3/4 miles it gets steeper and more difficult.Access: From Flagstaff drive north on US 180 for 7 miles to FR 516, the Snowbowl Road. Drive 7.4 miles on this paved road to the lower parking lot of the Snowbowl facility. The trailhead is located at the north end of the parking lot (see photo).
